The short answer: choose the largest footprint you can reach and maintain while keeping the surrounding space usable. Outside, inside, and package dimensions answer different questions.
Separate the measurements
Outside assembled dimensions determine placement. Inside dimensions describe usable growing and fill volume. Package dimensions affect delivery and handling. Do not substitute one for another.
Test the footprint
Mark the proposed corners with removable tape or stakes. Walk the normal route around the outline, open nearby doors and gates, bring a hose to the area, and check that materials can still pass.
Plan reach before width
Record which sides will remain accessible. A bed approached from two sides can be planned differently from one against a fence. Confirm you can reach the intended growing area without stepping into it.
Compare height with the whole setup
Height changes working position and fill volume, but does not by itself confirm crop suitability or accessibility. Compare height, footprint, configuration, and fill depth together.
Review delivery and assembly facts
Check the selected product's package size, weight, included components, and assembly information when verified. Consider the route from the delivery point to the installation area.
